Ligato is an open-source platform for cloud-native network functions.   It leverages the fd.io VPP (Vector Packet Processing) open-source packet processing stack, is implemented in the Go programming language and relies on cloud-native tools such as the etcd distributed data-store.   Use-cases for Ligato include implementation of a high-performance Kubernetes networking stack - Contiv-VPP, as well as NFV applications such as virtual firewalls.

In this presentation we will provide an overview of the Ligato project, its architecture and implementation, specifics around the Contiv-VPP use-case and how we implement Kubernetes policy using VPP, and our future plans.
